We all know that Google
Adsense is the market leader
in Pay Per Click networks, it is far ahead of any of its competitors, obviously
down to Googles search engine popularity which gained them to traffic to
maximise there Adsense network, its payouts are the best for any PPC publisher
and also has a good advertising program for its advertisers in AdWords.
However Google AdSense and Ad words are
not the be all and end all for publishers and advertisers, in fact it can be
somewhat expensive for some businesses and also only certain niches will work.
There lots of alternatives out there waiting to provide you with revenue. Some
good and some bad I hope to point out some alternatives on this page.
Google AdSense is incredibly strict and
it's not unusual for people to get an email from Google AdSense saying your
site breaches our terms or you get the dreaded Google AdSense has disabled ad
serving on your website, with one simple email can wipe out your site revenue.
I understand they have to protect their
advertisers 100%, but what happened to the human element what happened to
partnerships? Ive had sites in AdSense for years and then for them mercylessly
thrown out, so sometimes it seems unfair, however this isnt a page moaning
about Googles policys.
Instead of crying about it, you should
look into various Google Adsense alternatives out there. Here are sonme Google
Adsense alternatives.
Google Adsense Alternative #1
Is a very good provider with very good
reporting options, Chitika was even recommended by Yahoo Publishers service
after that closed in 2010. I did use it for a short time and got an average
return, also it seemed to only pay me for impressions and they were split into
2 sections normal and foreign traffic, which was a bit confusing as there were
2 pay out screens.
Again good dashboard with good reporting
options has a good range of adverts available and Chitika ads have images on
them too, to make them stand out. Pay-outs can be via PayPal which is handy and
you do get paid on time.
There are some issues with the
relevancy of the ads served, which to me isn't a major issue, I don't care who
advertises on my site if they are paying the most, but some users might not
like this. Pay for impressions and clicks is very low compared to AdSense.
What does Chitika mean? When Chitika co-founders, Venkat
Kolluri and Alden DoRosario left Lycos in 2003 to start their own company, they
sought a name that would suggest the speed with which its customers would be
able to put up ads on their Web sites. Chitika, which means "snap of the
fingers" in Telugu (a South Indian language), captured
this sentiment and Chitika Inc. was born. Chitika introduced its online-ads
service in January, 2004

Bid Vertiser is a bit of an enigma, as it
has a massive following however it's not at the top of my list due to them once
not paying out, just as I got to my pay-out threshold they cancelled my
account, which seems fishy to me, so I can't really recommend them.
It does have a nice dashboard if a
little basic, but it works, there is a wide range of advert layouts you can use
too. The major plus of Bid Vertiser is its ease of use, its very easy to setup
a campaign and also register as a publisher, you can have your adverts up and
running within a few minutes of registering.
You might NOT get paid, as happened to me
I never received a payment from them for all the time I've been in their
program; however I might have been unlucky who knows.
It can all seem a bit basic, and I ran
their XML ads on one of my sites and the pay-out was terrible, wasn't even 1
cent a click! Also their JavaScript is NOT CLEAN see the clean JavaScript
section on this page, and if you are an advertiser, their clicks do seem quite
expensive in some niches.
Google Adsense Alternative #3
have been around for a long time and I did
use them for a while quite successfully, I am not sure what happened to them,
they seemed to change their site and people lost interest in Ad brite. I have
used their publisher many times but the pay-outs are very low and on the odd
occasion I didn't even had any ads running on my site only seemingly default
low pay-out ads.
Easy to use and add your site, nice option
to switch between advertiser and publisher, they also provide inline ads. As
well as the traditional AdSense style
ads and formats.
Low pay-out and the JavaScript is ugly,
very big and complex.
Google Adsense Alternative #4
is a company I have tried a few
times, but I never seem to have much luck with it, however I am no expert with
publishing adverts on my sites. When I added their code to my pages the pay-out
was very low.
Easy to use dashboard and easy to use ads
with many formats, good support with a LIVE CHAT facility available. Clicksor
also provide inline adverts along with AdSense style adverts and formats.
Very low pay-outs and JavaScript isn't
clean, don't use the inline ads, they interrupt users browsing and are
incredibly annoying.
Google Adsense Alternative #5
A relative newcomer to the scene Infolinks
specializes in In-Text Advertizing. That is it indexes your page looking for
keywords and phrases that are not currently links and converts them into
advertizing links. When a user places their mouse over the link a box opens up
showing the ad. If they click on the link you get paid. It is very simple and
works very effectively.
The nice part is that you can use
Infolinks to compliment an existing advertizing campaign on your website. For
example you can show banner ads with AdBrite or Bidvertiser and show text links with Infolinks. Or
you can even show text links with both AdBrite and Infolinks together on the
same page to maximize your revenue.
